AREA OF PRACTICE

We are specialized in these diverse services and more

ESTATE PLANNING SERVICES

A comprehensive Estate is one that personalizes every aspect of planning for the disposition of your assets, your desires, your family situation and your needs. The Estate must include:

· A review of the character of your property, is it community or separate property, in addition to existing property agreements for example prenups or postnups if any.
· Discussions about how you wish to structure your estate plan and dispose of your property.
· Advice on how to minimize the impact of taxes.

TRUST ADMINISTRATION & PROBATE

Managing a Trust Estate with numerous assets and beneficiaries can be overwhelming.
As a Trustee you have a fiduciary duty to administer the estate properly and in a timely manner.
As a personal representative you have a fiduciary duty to administer the probate estate properly and timely and can, under certain circumstances, be surcharged for missteps. Beneficiaries can be very demanding often creating a stressful process.

ELDER LAW & MEDI-CAL SERVICES

Medi-Cal planning is a form of asset protection that involves planning to help an individual qualify for or retain Medi-Cal benefits. Under current law Medi-Cal is a financial need-based form of government benefit. This is different from social security disability benefits which are based upon disability, not financial need.
Medi-Cal, which can pay for long term care, requires a person to have very little assets or income to qualify for assistance.

PRENUPTIAL & POSTNUPTIAL AGREEMENTS

Kimera Law Firm has as part of our estate planning practice, been advising clients and drafting both Prenuptial (signed before marriage) and Postnuptial (signed after marriage) agreements. These

agreements serve to establish the property and support rights of a couple who wish to modify the default provisions of California State community property law, which would otherwise apply.

CONTRACT DRAFTING & REVIEW

Contracts are the language and the law of business. It is a self-written language, meaning that the parties negotiate and write it themselves. Since contracts establish the “law” of parties’ business relationship, it is important to have an experienced attorney on your side. The Kimera Law Firm has significant experiences in negotiating and drafting contracts in a wide range of areas.

RESIDENTIAL REAL ESTATE

Real estate is one of the most valuable assets you can own, especially since they are not making any more of it! We all use land and buildings every day. Even those of us who don’t own property need places to live, work and play.

California real estate properties are highly regulated, with numerous laws and codes to follow. This can make it challenging to own,

FAMILY LAW MEDIATION

Family Law Mediation is one of the most frequently used methods for negotiating a divorce and/or child custody settlement. In mediation, a neutral third party called a “mediator,” will meet with you and your spouse to discuss and resolve the issues involved in your divorce or child custody matter. Unlike a judge, the mediator does not make any decisions for the parties; rather, the mediator serves as a facilitator to help the parties reach an agreement.

NOTARIAL SERVICES

Notary services are available and can be provided at your location too. According to the National Notary Association, a notary public is a public servant appointed by state government to witness the signing of important documents and administer oaths. A notary will ask a signer for a document such as a driver’s license or government-issued
